I have been taking exclusive food photographs with the Sinar since the early 1980s. For me, controlling the focal plane and the depth of field precisely and deliberately is an essential aspect of taking great photographs. By combining the new Sinar CaptureFlow software and the Sinar p3-df (digital focus) I am now able to make all sorts of decisions about visual effects on the scale of the single pixel.

This is crucial, particularly when complex multiple exposures with an overlay template are involved. For food photography in the studio, I feel there is only one contender when it comes to a camera with adjustable focal and lens planes like the Sinar. Similarly, being able to control all the technical elements via the computer is the only way to work efficiently. Not just for the photographer, but also for the food stylist and the customer directing the shoot on site.
