2.2.1.1 Registration
When setting up a user account, you must provide your first and last name, your address and contact data, as well as a valid E-Mail address and details of at least one of your own products. Information on industry affiliation and other interests can also be provided on a voluntarily basis. This provided data is stored in the respective user account.
When setting up your user account, you can specify your own individual password. This password can be changed at any time.

When setting up a user account, you must register a purchased Leica product. Once the user account has been set up, you can register additional products at any later time. For this purpose we collect the name of the model and the serial number as well as the date of the purchase. You can also upload your own picture of the product. The data is stored in your user account.

We delete your personal data when you request the deletion of your user account via the Customer Care Service under customer.care@leica-camera.com.
2.2.1.3 Customer Database
Furthermore, we also store the data stored in your user account in our customer database. The processing of the data is carried out on the basis of legal provisions which authorise the data processing because we have a legitimate economic interest in the optimisation of our sales activities without the affected data subjects having an overriding interest (Art. 6 para. 1(f) GDPR).

2.2.2.1 Account Registration

If you have given us your consent to receive newsletters and other promotional communications, we will use your provided data (including data you may have entered in your user account) on the basis of your consent (Art. 6 para. 1(a) GDPR) to send you newsletters and other promotional communications - depending on the preferences you set up - by mail, by telephone or by electronic mail (e-mail, SMS, MMS, instant message).
We verify your consent by using the so-called Double-Opt-In-Procedure. To this end, we will send you an e-mail to the e-mail address you provided in the course of the subscription to actively confirm your consent to receive newsletters and other promotional content before we start sending you respective advertisement.
