Appreciation

For my book project 'Im UnRuhestand - The unretired' I exclusively work with my Sinar p2. I value the richness of detail and the control over accentuated sharpness. Working with the view camera slows down the shooting - I better concentrate on the opposite and take photographs more consciously. And thus the people portrayed estimate this as an appreciation.

The Unretired

With the project that I started in 2010, I deal with the following questions: How is a society evolving in which people are living longer? What comes after a long career anyway? The responses of the retirees are all different - as well as their portraits. There are many reasons for 'The Unretired (Im UnRuhestand)' to work after retirement. After a long working life they do not want to be inactive or bored, they intend to give something back to society or need an additional income. Some look for personal fulfilment, some just render a service to others.
